Mortified Documentary
COMING SOON
In honor of Mortified's tenth anniversary, we traveled across the country shooting Mortified Nation, a documentary that captures our stage shows where adults share their most embarrassing childhood diaries, letters, poems and art... in front of total strangers. Blending footage from live storytelling events with insights from fans, participants, sociologists, psychologists, YA authors, and even actual teenagers, the film examines why people share their past and what that reveals about all of us. As it journeys from coast to coast, Mortified Nation spotlights an eclectic mix of adults as they confront their past with humor and heart, both on stage and off. The result is an offbeat look at memory and shame, as filtered through Mortified and its community.
Our goal is to create a film that not only captures what we feel is special about the stage show, but to celebrate its themes that no matter who or where people are-- we were all that same strange kid. We're especially excited about this documentary as it marks the first time we'll be able to truly share the stage show experience, in all its awkward glory, with a wider audience. Coming early 2013. In the meantime, enjoy this temporary logo we mocked up.
